The Tropics

This evening I had House Hunters International on the tv and the couple was looking for a home in Grenada. I was immediately brought back to our summer vacation of 2012 in Turks and Caicos. The beautiful azure seas, white sandy beaches, and beautiful tropical flora all around.
Of all the holidays we have been on, to date, hands down, Turks & Caicos was the most amazing. I would give anything to move go back there and stay visit. It was paradise.
I quickly found myself job/house hunting in Turks & Caicos. Maybe a lottery jackpot and then we can sail away to paradise!

What is with the freaky ZOMBIES!!!!

Andrew and I just started watching The Walking Dead. Wow. For so long my brother has been going on and on about this series and how good it is.
We are on episode 4 and so far so good. It is some ridiculous craziness. I must admit though, it is quite enjoyable. I must admit, we did have the post-zombiepocolypse discussion and we are definitely going to end it before we turn onto one of them...you get bit, you get dead...

We love ELSA!!!

Frozen has become a staple in our household as of late. Elizabeth loves the movie so much that Nana is taking her to see it for the 4th time this morning. She will leave the house in her Elsa dress, with her Elsa doll in her arms and her hair fashioned with a braid, just like Elsa's.

Whether we are listening to the soundtrack in the car, watching clips on youtube, or just pretending, Frozen has taken over our house. I think back to when I was little and the first Disney movie I ever saw, Cinderella. Oh how I loved the movie and I still do today. I do think that The Little Mermaid had the biggest impact on me though. It was the first one that I ever saw at the movies. I only hope that Elizabeth will have the amazing memories of her favorite princesses when she grows up as I have of mine.

This spring, we are taking Elizabeth to Disney World. It is still a secret and I cannot wait for the look on her face when she realizes that she is going to see all of her favorite characters and princesses. I sure hope that we are able to find Elsa as it will surely make the trip!

Designation in 3, 2, 1....

I have been working for the same company for over eight years now, and I have realized that I have probably reached the end of the career path in my current position. That being said, I love what I do, well, most of the time. I think everyone has a few bad days. For a few years now I have toyed with the idea of getting an ARM designation, at minimum it would give me additional credibility and the potential of further growth with in the company.

Yesterday, I contacted our educational services program and requested the course material for the ARM designation. The materials for the first of three tests should arrive next week. AHH!!! I have a test window from April 15 to June 15. It just got real. If all goes well, I should be able to obtain the designation by the end of the year. Here goes nothing!

In With a Crash!

After a banging New Year's Eve, we started 2014 with a bit of a crash, as in a bottle of yummy American Honey all over the kitchen floor!

Firstly, the car had this horrible stench of stale cigarettes, which is perplexing considering that neither of us smoke, nor have we ever, and the car has always been in our family.

Secondly, the broken bottle of American Honey, which slipped out of Andrew's hands and crashed onto the kitchen floor making such a ridiculous mess.

Third, Andrew went to watch the United match that he 'taped' and it wasn't there, as in the dvr did not record it, or Andrew forgot to record it.

Elizabeth and I decided the best thing that we could do was head out to the movies and go see Frozen with Elizabeth's friend Isabelle. We had a wonderful time, Elizabeth dressed up as Elsa and brought her Elsa doll. We usually go to Studio Movie Grill, but when we go her main complaint is that it is too loud. I do have to agree with her though, it is quite loud for a children's movie.

So besides a stinky car, smashed bourbon, and no football, it was still a pretty great day :)

Out With a Bang!

We had an amazing New Year's Eve this year. Having a little one can make it a little it difficult to ring in the new year at midnight, so we celebrate a little early.
Andrew is from England and I am from Ireland, so we celebrate new year at 6pm to ring it in with the folks back home. This works perfectly when you have a little one and if you are out, you are home long before the obscenely drunk start weaving and bobbing themselves home.
There is a great pub where we go to celebrate with family and friends called the Westchase Tavern. We had such fun and Elizabeth really enjoyed herself.
I hope your New Year's Eve was a blast!
